As part of Marloo Theatre’s one act season here is the audition notice for All’s Well That End’s Well As You Like It.
Frederigo – a deposed duke.
Dronio – Frederigo’s son. He is in love with Delia.
Testiculo – a clown, possibly a little mad.
The Coarse Actor – Must be able to take on five seperaete roles. The comedic relief. Characters as follows; Mud (a loon), Lute Player, Grot (another loon), Messenger and Bolio (a fairy).
Bronchio – The usurping duke. He is Frederigo’s brother and is father to Delia. He is hunched over and is a bit over dramatic.
Friar Crucible/Vicar – a holy man. The Vicar opens the show.
Delia – A fair maiden. Daughter to Bronchio and is in love with Dronio.
Dracula – a nurse with an impressive chest. She raised Delia and Dronio from babes.
Pan – a malevolent god.
Soldiers/Attendants – as needed.
All actors are requested to perform a short monologue. Comedic or farce is much preferred, it does not have to be Shakespeare but it may be helpful to start you learning the style of language. Auditionees will also be asked to read a section from the script – cold reading.
This play is a farce of Shakespeare and comedic timing is important, as is a quick pace. This is a great opportunity for those who want to get their feet wet in theatre as well as seasoned theatre actors looking for a bit of fun.
Auditions will be held Saturday 14 June at Marloo Theatre from 3pm to 5pm. A fifteen minute audition slot can be booked with me on firstname.lastname@example.org . Rehearsals will begin in July.
