KADS (Kalamunda Dramatic Society) presents Charitable Intent, the third play in the Jack Manning Trilogy by Australian playwright David Williamson.
The play takes place in the meeting room of the charity organisation E & C (Enabling and Caring) that provides large amounts of funding for programmes for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.
After the retirement of the founding CEO, a new CEO has been appointed who has rather extreme methods and ideas of how to bring the charity into the 21st century. As a result of this, new, younger employees have been brought in to form the management team. This causes much conflict with the older, long term employees and as a result the organisation is in turmoil. The board recommends a community conference to resolve the conflict and so Jack Manning is brought in to facilitate.
