Laying the Ghost
28 Feb, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 8:00pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, repeating until 15 Mar, 2014
All the action takes place in the conservatory of Yew Tree House, a home for retired actors (now there’s a thought!), somewhere in the south of England. The play revolves around Margot Buchanan who is trying to forget it is her 70th birthday while all around are intent on celebrating it, even Freda, her psychic friend who talks to ghosts and is deep in her jigsaw puzzle of ‘The Full Monty’.
Margot and her ex-husband, Sir Leo Buchanan, were famous in the fifties for their portrayal of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and for this reason Margot is visited by young Sadie Croft who is also soon to play ‘Juliet’. They are interrupted by the arrival of Lady Judy Buchanan, Leo’s current wife, then Leo himself arrives and chaos begins.
This romantic comedy is written by Simon Williams, probably best known for his portrayal of the young Capt. James Bellamy in the original TV series ‘Upstairs Downstairs’.
Directed by Carole Wilson
