“That’s What Friends Are For” & “Under the Bright Sun”
6 Dec, 2014
‘That’s What Friends Are For’, written by Bob Charteris, is a “mature age” rom-com with a cast of three. This is a “continuous” series of dialogues that tell a story. There are no scenes as such, just a series of episodes.
Synopsis: Helen is terminally ill. Her dying wish is to bring happiness to the two people dearest to her. What she proposes is something none of them foresaw.
‘Under the Bright Sun’, written by Norm Foster, is a play within the actors and audience’s minds. It takes place in the present day and features four characters who happen to meet at a ‘bus stop’ and start up conversations. But they soon realise that the ‘bus stop’ is not what it seems and they start asking questions about their existence. When they come to the conclusion that either it is purgatory or a play, or it could be both!
Show Dates: Feb 27, 28, Mar 1, 5, 6, 7
Director: Bob Charteris and Jay Shaw
No preparation but excerpts are available on request. Auditions will be readings from the plays.
