The Awakenings

3 Apr, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

The Awakenings is a series of plays written by Murdoch University lecturer David Moody. There are two plays being performed; Elephant Dreaming and The Awakening

The Awakening: The most famous and misunderstood women in history, mythology and literature have banded together to fight the sorcerer Prospero and to summon the Goddess, Sycorax, in order to bring balance back into the world. In order to restore this balance Greek Goddess Hecate has summoned some pretty powerful women to help her such as Medusa, Mata Hari, Gertrude (Queen of Denmark), Morgana, Medea and fellow Greek Goddess Artemis. However, newcomers Miranda and Joan of Arc are proving to be unwilling participants in their endeavor. Link: https://www.facebook.com/events/557027467729833/?fref=ts

Ever wonder how the animals in the zoo see us? The voyeurs and perverts with our chips and Coke drooling for the entertainment of animals kept in a cage. That’s how they feel. Elephant Dreaming is Doctor David Moody’s exploration of life stuck behind bars while the rest of the world stares in misjudgement.
