Under The Blue Sky

About the Show:
Under the Blue Sky by David Eldridge is an award-winning, funny and touching play – three subtly connected love stories that reveal in turn the roller-coaster ride of lust in its prime, the sacrifices of a life in public service and its unrequited passions. Eldridge’s play is a delicate yet truthful depiction of all the degrees of love – from fondness and affection through the headier extremes of a drunken romp. It gives us an all too recognisable portrayal of the way in which uncertainties, misunderstanding and the unsaid lead to unexpected results for three couples who seem destined never to say the right thing.
Helen (20s) and Nick (20s)
Helen is in love with Nick and destined to be disappointed because Nick is about to move on with his life.
Michelle (30s) and Graham (30s).
Promiscuous, crude and full-on Michelle gives shy, inexperienced Graham a night he’ll never forget, but he might also teach her a thing or two…
Robert (early 40s) and Anne (late 50s).
Robert and Anne have been platonic friends and travel partners for years. Perhaps it’s time the relationship took another step.
The audition will be held in 3 sections for the 3 acts. People wanting to audition for more than one role may be required to stay for more than one session. You don’t need to prepare monologues but I’m happy to hear these if they have been prepared and if there is time. The audition will be readings from the play.
