Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
12 Dec, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
About the Show:
On a warm Saturday night in the early autumn of the 1950’s, Nick, an opportunistic university professor and his wife are invited to an after party by the University President’s daughter Martha and her husband George, a senior professor. As the drinks flow and inhibitions are lowered, what is supposed to be a pleasant nightcap quickly turns into something unexpected. Over the course of the evening, the unwitting guests are drawn into a tour de force of humiliation, frustration and manipulation that will leave everyone’s cards face-up on the table and a marriage in tatters.
Martha: A large, boisterous woman, fiftyish, looks somewhat younger. Daughter of the college president.
George: Her husband, forty-six. Thin; hair going grey. A member of the History department.
Nick: Twenty-eight. Blond, well put-together, good looking. A new member of the Biology faculty.
Honey: Twenty-six. Petite, blond, rather clueless wife of Nick.
Audition will consist of cold readings from the script.
